Bizarre Bazaar is VALLEYPAA's newest sober community event, bringing together young people in recovery for an afternoon of connection, creativity, and fun. Start the day with an AA meeting at 4:00 PM, then stick around for an unforgettable evening featuring a thrift market, tarot readings, astrology and fortunes, trinkets and treasures, a pong tournament, games, food, and drinks. The event takes place on Sunday, August 30, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Lake Balboa Park – Pavilion 3. Admission is free, with a $10 suggested contribution to help support future VALLEYPAA events. Donations of clothing, vintage items, art, and other unique treasures are also welcome. For donation information, contact Abby at (818) 280-7232. Whether you're newly sober or have years of recovery, come meet new people, support the recovery community, and experience a one-of-a-kind sober event in the San Fernando Valley.
A day in the sand with the LA County young people fellowship — LACYPAA presents, and VALLEYPAA is proud to co-host alongside committees from across the county (GSDYPAA, NSDYPAA, ACYPAA, COVYPAA). Things start at 1pm with a speaker meeting TBD by the fire. $10 donation at the door, and we've got you covered: hot dogs, water, energy drinks, and s'mores. Fun, fellowship, and recovery by the beach.

VALLEYPAA is a young people in Alcoholics Anonymous committee in the San Fernando Valley — the northwest end of the City of Los Angeles. We host and co-host sober events: dances and speaker jams, beach days and hikes, campouts and holiday parties, markets, and meetings. Everything we host is listed on this page with its real date, time, and address. If it isn't on this page, we're not hosting it.
Our one standing commitment is the committee business meeting: second saturday of each month at 2 pm, at Hole in the Sky, 21520 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303.
Events are free to walk into. There's no alcohol and no drugs at anything we put on. You don't have to be in AA, and you don't have to be sober, to come.
Before you come
VALLEYPAA (Valley Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous) is a volunteer AA committee in the San Fernando Valley, the northwest section of the City of Los Angeles. We put on sober events and carry the AA message to young people who still suffer. We are not a treatment center, a nonprofit, or a business — just AA members doing service.
Yes. The San Fernando Valley is part of the City and County of Los Angeles. Our events happen in Canoga Park, Reseda, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, and Woodland Hills — twenty to forty minutes from Hollywood or downtown depending on the 101. If you are looking for sober events in the Los Angeles area, we are the north end of it.
An event with no alcohol and no drugs, put on by and for people in recovery. Ours look like dances and speaker jams, beach days and hikes, campouts and holiday parties, markets, and meetings. Nothing costs money to walk into; some events pass a basket, because AA is self-supporting through its own members' contributions and does not take outside money.
No, and you do not have to be in AA. The only thing we ask is that you do not bring alcohol or drugs. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.
No. Young people committees focus on people who got sober young, young newcomers, and young-at-heart AA members. Nobody checks an ID, and anyone with a desire to stop drinking is welcome around AA.
Nothing. AA has no dues or fees, and our events are free to walk into.
No. LACYPAA is Los Angeles County Young People in AA; VALLEYPAA is the San Fernando Valley committee. Different committees, same fellowship — and we show up at each other's events.

No. VALLEYPAA is a committee of AA members. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Alcoholics Anonymous World Services or any A.A. service body, and nothing here is an official A.A. position.
